Shipping Policy

1. Introduction

This Delivery Policy regulates the conditions and terms of dispatch of products ordered through the website shop.openbiomaps.org, operated by ÖKOINFORMATIKA SRL.
The purpose of this policy is to provide clear and transparent information on delivery methods, costs, processing times and responsibilities of the parties involved.


Delivery areas, countries and costs

The operator carries out deliveries in Romania and in most countries of the European Union, through domestic and international courier services.
The transport cost is calculated according to the delivery area, as shown in the table below.
Delivery times are indicative and may vary depending on the destination, time of year and volume of orders.

Comments:

  • Delivery times include order processing time (1-2 working days).
  • International deliveries may be affected by customs procedures or logistical delays, especially during busy periods.
  • Before the order is finalised, the exact shipping cost is displayed in the checkout basket.
  • For large orders or deliveries outside the above lists, costs will be communicated individually by e-mail.

📦 The operator reserves the right to periodically update the carriage costs according to courier providers’ rates and market conditions.
Any changes will be published on this page before they take effect.


3. Order processing

  1. Orders are processed Monday to Friday, between 09:00 – 17:00.
    Orders placed on weekends or public holidays will be processed on the next working day.
  2. The standard processing time is 1-2 working days, plus the shipping time mentioned above.
  3. personalised products (with images, text or graphics provided by the customer) require an additional 2-4 working days production time prior to dispatch.
  4. Upon dispatch of the order, the customer will receive a confirmation email with the parcel tracking number (tracking number), when the courier service provides it.

4. Methods of delivery

Orders are currently delivered by:

  • local couriers selected by Operator,
  • with delivery to the address indicated by the customer on the order form.

5. Delivery terms

Total delivery time is calculated according to:

  • order processing time (1-2 working days),
  • transport time (2-14 working days, depending on the area).

The operator endeavours to meet the communicated deadlines, but these are estimates.
Delays may occur for reasons beyond the Operator’s control (weather conditions, high volume of orders, public holidays, address errors).


6. Parcel reception

The customer is obliged to check the integrity of the parcel upon receipt.
If the packaging shows visible damage (broken, wet, deformed boxes), it is recommended:

  • the parcel should be refused, or
  • note the remarks on the AWB.

Any complaints about damage to products during transport must be sent within 48 hours of receipt of the parcel to:

7. Undelivered or returned orders

If delivery cannot be made for reasons attributable to the customer (incorrect address, repeated absence, refusal of receipt), the order will be returned to the sender.
In this case:

  • return and re-shipment costs will be borne by the customer;
  • reimbursement of the amount paid will be made only after deduction of the return transport costs.

8. Products lost or delayed delivery

In the event of a lost parcel or undue delay in delivery, the Operator will contact the courier company for investigation.
Depending on the outcome:

  • a replacement product will be sent, or
  • full refund of the amount paid by the customer.

The operator cannot be held responsible for delays caused by the courier, force majeure or unforeseen circumstances beyond its direct control.
